Personal Information

Born on August 5, 1952 in Peam Koh Sna Commune, Stoeung Trang District of Kampong Cham Province, upon completion of his local primary schooling, in 1965 Hun Sen came to Phnom Penh to continue his secondary education in the Lycée Indra Devi. He resided in Neakavoan Pagoda.

In 1970 Cambodia was plunged into war. Responding to the appeal of Prince Sihanouk to Cambodians to join the war against the imperialists, at the age of 18, Hun Sen joined the struggle movement, which liberated the country on April 17, 1975.

One day before the victory, on April 16, 1975, Hun Sen was wounded in the left eye. Recovering after months of treatment, he married Bun Rany (Hun Sen and Bun Rany have three sons and three daughters one of whom is adopted Hun Manet, Hun Mana, Hun Manit, Hun Mani, Hun Mali, and Hun Malis.)

For his great efforts and contributions to national reconciliation, peace, and the socio-economic development of Cambodia, Hun Sen is awarded the title of "Samdech" by His Majesty the King Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk (more...)

Governing Council

To safeguard and enforce integrity, the Governing Council shall:

monitor and evaluate policies, training and effectiveness, development, achievement, standards, learning and curriculum
monitor and evaluate leadership, governance, management and other activities
authorize the suspension (by removal of the name) of any member found guilty of misconduct (including corruption, terrorism, blackmail and or extortion, human trafficking, money laundering, and any other organised crime related offence) from the register of ACCD Qualified Commercial Diplomats worldwide.
ensure that Qualified Advocates, Qualified Certified Diplomats, Chartered Diplomats and other members of ACCD maintain a reputable and high standard of behaviour

Leadership

Members of the Governing Council are elected to terms of one to three years, subject to an overall limit of ten consecutive years of service. The Governing Council elects the President of the global professional body. Elected President of the Association who is also a member of the Governing Council reviews the strategies and performance of the Association's administrative team. He also assists in long-range planning and development. The Office exercises all powers of the Governing Council except as reserved by law or the By-Laws to the Board.
